Is Your Life Off Track?

Do you ever feel like life has spiraled out of control, leaving you wondering how to get back on track? It can feel overwhelming, like you’re standing in a maze with no clear way out. The good news? You’re not alone, and there’s hope.
You may have heard the saying, “Let the chips fall where they may,” meaning to just let life unfold naturally and accept whatever happens. While it may sound like a peaceful way to live, it’s actually some of the worst advice anyone could follow. Life isn’t about leaving things up to chance—it’s about taking intentional steps toward the future you want.
As Benjamin Franklin wisely said, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”
For those of us who are motivated to live by faith, Hebrews 11:1 offers a powerful reminder: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, [and faith is] the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith gives us hope, but it also requires action. So, what are you hoping for? What’s your goal, your purpose in life? Maybe you’re not sure what your purpose is, and that’s okay. The key is to take the first step forward.
Follow These Steps to Move Forward in the Right Direction Again
1. Forgive Yourself and Forgive Others
Forgiveness is the first step to freedom. Whatever mistakes or hurts lie in the past, let them stay there. Holding onto bitterness or regret keeps us stuck, but forgiveness paves the way for healing and growth.
Whether it’s someone who wronged you or a mistake you made yourself, choose to let go. It’s okay to feel upset or angry, but don’t let those feelings define your future. You can’t control what others do, but you can control your response.
As I write this, I’m speaking to myself too. Forgiveness is a daily decision, but it’s one that sets us free to pursue a brighter future.
2. Dare to Dream Again
What ignites your passion today? What makes your heart come alive?
Life happens in phases, and your purpose might shift over time. The dreams you once held may no longer fit, and that’s okay. Ask yourself: What phase of life am I in right now, and what dream aligns with this season?
Chances are, you already possess some of the skills or knowledge needed to pursue your dream. Think back—have you spent years reading, learning, or dabbling in areas that excite you? Don’t underestimate the foundation you’ve already built. It’s time to take the dream off the shelf and bring it back into focus.
3. Take Action
Action doesn’t have to be monumental. Start small. It could be as simple as reading a book, signing up for a course, or jotting down your ideas in a journal.
In Exodus 4:2, when God gave Moses a mission, Moses worried he wasn’t enough. But God asked him, “What is in your hand?” Moses held a simple rod—just an ordinary piece of wood. Yet God used that rod in extraordinary ways to fulfill His purpose through Moses.
What’s in your hand right now? What small resource, skill, or opportunity can you use to take a step forward? With God’s power, the ordinary can become extraordinary.
Let’s Walk This Journey Together
There’s so much more I’d love to share, but I know the sheer volume of advice on social media can feel overwhelming. It’s easy to get stuck in analysis paralysis, unsure where to begin.
So, let’s simplify. Start with these three steps and see where they take you.
I’d love to hear from you: Was this post helpful? What topics would you like me to write about next? Let’s encourage each other as we move forward, one step at a time.
Remember: Forgive. Dream. Take action. You’re not stuck—you’re just one step away from a fresh start.
